Ask a Porn Star: 1st Day in Porn (NSFW)

The first day of work on a new job is always a mixture of excitement, nerves and unease. Imagine if you had to have sex with a stranger, in front of a crew of a dozen or more people as well. Wood Rocket’s Ask a Porn Star series recently invited performers to talk about their first day on set and shared the results on their Youtube page.

I felt morbid curiosity when I saw the Ask a Porn Star video link on Twitter. Last year, I watched the Rashida Jones produced documentary Hot Girls Wanted and I found it fascinating. In the film, the performers are incredibly candid about their lives. The young women in Hot Girls Wanted answered Craig’s list ads and an “agent” bought them a plane ticket and flew them to his city where he put them up in his home. The documentary is an emotional ride as you follow young performers looking to be successful and make money while living with each other in their agent’s home. The Wood Rocket video below is much lighter and covers those typical first job jitters, except, you know, in porn.

Apparently, porn is a lot like standard filmmaking. The productions can be large-scale or very amateur, people worry about their lines, and you have to start at the bottom. Not that bottom, you pervert. I meant you start by being an extra. Michael Vegas’ story about the frat party was probably the most entertaining first day. I also couldn’t help drawing comparisons between August Ames’ story of her first time on set and first time sex stories. “I was so confused, I had no idea what to do.” Ames continued, “Is this okay? Or, can I do that?”

WoodRocket.com is a porn production company that seems to make a lot of XXX parodies. If you enjoyed the video, there’s another clip called More 1st Day in Porn Stories available on Youtube. If you’re interested in a more serious look at the industry, watch Hot Girls Wanted on Netflix.
